Eurozone Inflation Rate in Feburary Dips Slightly

BRUSSELS, Mar. 3  -- Annual inflation rate of the Eurozone dipped slightly in February to 0.9 percent from 1.0 percent in January, according to flash estimate of the European Union(EU)'s statistics arm Eurostat on Tuesday.

The figure remains significantly below the European Central Bank's preferred target of close to but below 2 percent.

The annual inflation rate of the Eurozone had been on the increase for three consecutive months from November 2009 to January 2010.

According to the latest projections of the European Commission, the inflation rate of the Eurozone and the EU would be 1.1 percent and 1.4 percent respectively in 2010.
