Korea Zinc: Zinc Output at Onsan Plant Expected to Fall in 2010

SHANGHAI, Feb. 12 -- Korea Zinc predicts refined zinc output at its Onsan plant in 2010 will fall to 455 kt from 2009 levels of 460 kt, and refined lead output will be 199 kt.

Previously, Korea Zinc planed to produce 410 kt of refined zinc in 2009, but its actual output of refined zinc increased following the recovering demand for refined zinc. The company has sold 457 kt of refined zinc in 2009, and plans to sell 458 kt of refined zinc in 2010, up 0.1% on a yearly basis. The company has sold 217,842 mt of refined lead in 2009, and plans to sell 199,370 mt of refined lead in 2010, down 8.5% on a yearly basis.
