Canada Puget Venture Plans to Produce Primary Cobalt

SHANGHAI, Feb. 10 -- According to overseas sources, president of Puget Ventures told that Werner West mine will come into production within two years, so Puget Ventures will become the only cobalt producer in Canada. Usually, cobalt is made from associated mine, but Werner West mine will produce primary cobalt.

It is expected that Werner Wes mine in Ontario will produce around 10 million lbs of cobalt (4536 mt of cobalt) in 5 years, and the company is still looking for resources in other areas. According to the company, its clients mainly come from chemical industries in North America, such as agriculture industry, pottery and porcelain industry, insulator industry and medicine industry, but demand from battery industry will gradually grow.
