DashboardDatabaseProReportsEventsConsultingBEIJING, Feb. 4 -- China's annual output of electric bicycles increased from 58,000 to 21.88 million in the ten years from 1998 to 2008, said the authorities at the First Annual Meeting of China’s Electric-Bicycle Industry in Beijing, sources reported.
Reportedly, the output in 2009 is estimated at 20 million.
China now is the world's largest producer, consumer and exporter of electric bikes and accounts for more than 90% of the world’s annual output and sales.
Most of the relevant technologies were developed in China and are market-tested; some are world-class.
