SHANGHAI, Jan. 15 -- According to foreign media, the CEO of Emirates Aluminum Company (EMAL) said the company has become operational from Wednesday this week as scheduled, with daily output of approximately 1 kt. According the company plans, the EMAL will increase its capacity to 700 kt/yr by the end of 2010. The company sold products to their domestic markets, and plans to sell products to Asia, Europe and Middle East. The EMAL is held by Dubai Aluminum Company and Mubadala Development Company jointly, and plans to develop into a largest aluminum smelter in the world, and will raise its aluminum capacity to 1.4 million mt/yr by 2013 or 2014.
