[Cu] Summary - 2009/10/19 Spot Copper Market

SHANGHAI, Oct. 19 (SMM) -- East China, traded prices were in the RMB 49,100-49,350/mt range in Shanghai region today. Copper prices climbed slightly in the afternoon, but downstream purchasing interest remained low. Traded prices were in the RMB 49,100-49,300/mt range in Shandong region. Copper prices moved up, restricting the downstream buying interest, and the transactions were moderate as a result.

    South China, traded prices were in the RMB 49,100-49,300/mt range. Copper prices inched up, but the trading volume failed to increase, and the trading sentiment was general.

    North China, traded prices were RMB 49,100-49,200/mt. The rising copper prices dampened downstream purchasing interest, leading to lukewarm trading sentiment.
