SHANGHAI, Aug. 3 (SMM) -- Cargo throughput at Longkou Port in Shangdon province has reached 17.02 million mt from January to June, up 16.2% YoY, with the highest growth rate in all ports of Shandong province.
Sources report that Longkou Port handled 3.06 million mt of bauxite in 1H 2009, and becomes the port with largest volume of imported bauxite in China.
Longkou Port has become an integrated logistics center with transportation, port industry, trade, finance and other services, and develops four key brands including coal, bauxite and timber. At present, the general cargo liner service from Longkou Port to Africa has covered 16 provinces in China.
