Jiangxi Lithium Industry Technology Plans to Produce 10000-12000 mt of Refined Nickel in 2009
Dec 7, 2009 13:16SHANGHAI,Sept.26th,(CBI China) -- The Jiangxi Lithium Industry Technology Company has reduced monthly output from 500mt to 300mt at its recently commissioned nickel unit due to weak demand in nickel markets.
A 200kt/yr sulfuric acid unit was also put into production in early September following the start-up of the nickel unit, and is designed to reduce production costs by producing sulfuric acid internally. The operation will save 25% of the cost of purchasing sulfuric acid, based on 50 mt of sulfuric acid needed to produce one mt of refined nickel.
The company plans to produce 10,000-12,000 mt of refined nickel during 2009, which will make it the second largest nickel producer in China.
