현대자동차 튀르키예(HMTR)는 6월 17일 현대모비스와 함께 이즈미트 공장에 배터리 시스템 조립 공장을 설립하기 위해 5,500만 유로(약 965억 원)를 투자할 것이라고 발표했다. 이 프로젝트는 7억 1,500만 유로(약 1조 2,548억 원) 규모의 광범위한 전동화 투자 계획의 일부로, 8월부터 아이오닉 3 생산을 시작하고 향후 전기차 및 하이브리드 차량 모델을 위한 준비도 포함한다.
