Triple Drivers of Policy, Technology, and Demand Set the Stage for an Imminent Explosion in the Solid-State Battery Market

Sun Li pointed out that battery technology is currently undergoing profound changes that are reshaping the entire industry landscape. The combined effects of policy support, technological breakthroughs, and market demand have ushered in unprecedented development opportunities for the solid-state battery market. Leveraging their unique advantages, solid-state batteries are gradually opening doors to emerging application fields such as eVTOL (electric vertical takeoff and landing aircraft) and robots, while accelerating their penetration into essential scenarios like consumer electronics and electric vehicles (EVs), potentially giving rise to a trillion-yuan-scale market.

Solid-State Batteries: The Optimal Solution for Multi-Domain Applications

Solid-state batteries exhibit unparalleled advantages across various application scenarios. For eVTOLs, which encompass multiple application scenarios such as air taxis, transportation and logistics, industrial applications, public services, and manned transportation, the requirements for battery performance are extremely stringent. Lithium metal solid-state batteries, with their exceptional performance characteristics including energy density as high as 450-550Wh/kg, cycle life of 800-1000 cycles, charge-discharge rate of 4C, and aerospace-grade safety testing, have emerged as the optimal solution for eVTOLs. It is projected that by 2025, the comprehensive contribution value of the low-altitude economy will reach 3-5 trillion yuan, with the flying car market size potentially reaching 2.1 trillion yuan by 2030, and the industry contributing 65 trillion yuan by 2050 (equivalent to half of China's GDP in 2023), indicating boundless development prospects for solid-state batteries in this field.

In the AI consumer electronics sector, traditional consumer electronics demand has bottomed out and rebounded, while the expansion of emerging consumer electronics markets has become a strong long-term growth driver for the industry. Solid-state batteries demonstrate stable discharge performance at extreme low temperatures of -20°C, effectively addressing the issue of reduced battery life in mobile phones under low-temperature conditions. Under the same volume or weight, semi-solid-state batteries can store more energy, providing users with longer talk times, internet access, and other mobile phone usage experiences. Emerging consumer electronics products come in diverse forms, requiring more flexible battery sizes and shapes. Pouch-type solid-state batteries, with their thin and lightweight design and flexibility, are better suited for consumer electronics products.

The integration of robotics technology with power batteries has given rise to a trillion-yuan-scale market. It is expected that from 2025 to 2030, the global and Chinese robot markets will maintain rapid growth, with industrial robots, service robots, and home intelligent robots becoming the three major growth engines. Solid-state batteries possess significant technological advantages in the robotics field, including stable voltage output, optimized capacity and energy density, ultra-wide temperature range and safety, modularity and customization, as well as high-rate discharge performance.

In the NEV market, solid-state batteries represent an important direction for the next generation of power batteries. Based on comprehensive media data, it is projected that global NEV sales may exceed 47 million units by 2030, with a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) potentially exceeding 20%. The total global demand for power batteries may exceed 3,800GWh, representing a staggering 400% increase. The high energy density, high safety, better cost-effectiveness, and adaptability to extreme environments of solid-state batteries make them a key technology for meeting the demands of next-generation power battery products.

The international team, with members from both China and the US, has over 15 years of experience in the battery industry, with rich expertise in technology, processes, engineering manufacturing, and commercialization. Over 70% of the core R&D and process personnel hold master's and doctoral degrees from prestigious universities and come from top-tier international battery enterprises.

In terms of technology roadmap selection, Inx Technology has adopted a lithium metal solid-state battery solution that combines the highest energy density with aerospace-grade safety. The battery, featuring a lithium metal anode and oxide electrolyte, balances performance, cost, and scalability, with an energy density of 450-550Wh/kg and aerospace-grade safety. Currently, the company's pilot line for high-energy-density solid-state batteries has been commissioned, and C-sample verification and shipment have been completed, gaining recognition from multiple top-tier customers. The first domestic pilot line for solid-state batteries with an energy density of ≥450Wh/kg and a capacity of 200MWh has been in stable production since the end of 2023. The world's first mass production line for solid-state batteries with an energy density of ≥450Wh/kg and a capacity of 2GWh is currently under construction and has passed testing and certification from multiple industry-leading customers, including EHang.

Inx "Falcon" Battery: Leading the New Era of eVTOL Solid-State Batteries

Notably, the Inx "Falcon" battery has completed the world's first full-scenario real-flight verification for eVTOLs, ushering in a trillion-yuan market opportunity for the low-altitude economy. As the world's first mass-produced and delivered eVTOL solid-state battery, Inx has taken the lead in establishing the country's first production line for 450Wh/kg solid-state batteries, securing long-term supply agreements with leading eVTOL enterprises and achieving order revenue exceeding 100 million yuan. This battery is the only product to have passed full-scenario real-flight verification for eVTOLs, fully demonstrating the reliability of solid-state batteries under complex conditions such as high-power takeoffs and landings, extreme temperatures ranging from -20°C to 60°C, 8-level gales, and water takeoffs and landings. Equipped with the Inx "Falcon" solid-state battery, EHang's eVTOL achieved a single-charge driving range of 48 minutes and 10 seconds, nearly doubling the performance of traditional batteries and setting an industry benchmark for driving range.

Future Outlook: Aiming to Become the World's No. 1 Brand in Solid-State Batteries

Looking ahead, Sun Li expressed confidence that Inx aims to become the world's first mass producer of lithium metal solid-state batteries by 2025, the world's No. 1 brand in lithium metal solid-state batteries from 2026 to 2027, and the world's No. 1 brand in solid-state batteries from 2028 to 2030.
