Sichuan Tianfu Xinchuan Group to Develop $540M Alumina Refinery in Indonesia

Sichuan Tianfu Xinchuan Group of China announced that it plans to develop an alumina refinery project in Central Kalimantan, Indonesia, through its newly established subsidiary PT Progressive Indonesia Alumina (PIA). According to the company, the first phase of the alumina refinery will construct a smelting-grade alumina refinery with an annual capacity of 1 million mt, supported by an integrated infrastructure network including logistics, energy, and on-site facilities. The total investment in the project is expected to exceed $540 million.
