GAC Group's global strategic model AION V goes on sale in Hong Kong

Shanghai (Gasgoo)- On March 31, GAC Group officially put its global strategic model, the AION V, onto the Hong Kong market, according to the group's press release.

The new electric SUV is available in two variants—Premium and Luxury—priced at HK$218,000 and HK$238,000, respectively. Early buyers can take advantage of special promotional pricing, with the Premium version offered at HK$208,000 and the Luxury variant at HK$228,000.

According to Tan Dongsheng, General Manager of Product at GAC Group, the AION V is designed with comfort and practicality in mind. The front seats can fully recline at the push of a button, transforming into a soft, bed-like surface. The second-row space, comparable to that of a luxury large SUV, offers a flagship-level experience. Additionally, the model features a pioneering three-layer trunk storage system and a built-in three-mode car refrigerator, providing a mobile home-like environment for users.

The AION V comes equipped with an 8.88-inch instrument cluster and a 14.6-inch central touchscreen supporting online music, navigation, and CarPlay connectivity for expanded functionality. A four-zone voice recognition system ensures that every passenger enjoys a personalized in-car entertainment experience.

Powered by 400V+3C ultra-fast charging technology, the AION V can charge from 30% to 80% of its battery capacity in just 16 minutes, reducing range anxiety while keeping energy costs low.

Hong Kong plays a pivotal role in GAC's internationalization strategy, serving as a gateway to the Asia-Pacific region and beyond. Since entering the Hong Kong market in January 2024, GAC has rapidly expanded its presence, establishing a brand center, seven showrooms, and two after-sales service centers, forming a comprehensive sales and service network across the city.

Before the AION V, GAC INTERNATIONAL had already introduced several models in Hong Kong, including the AION Y Plus, the GAC E9 plug-in hybrid electric MPV, and the high-end HYPTEC HT, catering to a diverse range of consumers from families to business professionals.

At the 46th Bangkok International Motor Show on March 24, GAC INTERNATIONAL reinforced its commitment to global expansion by unveiling the "One GAC 2.0" strategy, built on a long-term development vision aligned with the company's three-year "Panyu Action."

Under this strategy, GAC INTERNATIONAL aims to enhance its product offerings, sales channels, services, energy ecosystem, and mobility solutions in Hong Kong, fully integrating into the local market and contributing to its growth.

Moving forward, GAC plans to accelerate the introduction of more new energy vehicle models in Hong Kong, with a focus on battery electric vehicles and plug-in hybrid electric vehicles to meet the city's diverse green mobility needs.

In terms of sales and service expansion, the group intends to open two additional showrooms in Hong Kong this year, further strengthening its customer support network.

Additionally, GAC Group is actively pursuing collaborations with local enterprises to leverage its expertise in the new energy vehicle sector and build a sustainable energy ecosystem in Hong Kong.
