The most-traded SHFE zinc 2505 contract opened at 23,530 yuan/mt. Initially, SHFE zinc fluctuated around the daily average line, then, as shorts reduced their positions, it rose steadily above the daily average line, reaching a high of 23,660 yuan/mt. It finally closed at 23,615 yuan/mt, up 160 yuan/mt, a gain of 0.68%. The trading volume decreased to 166,000 lots, and the open interest dropped by 8,724 lots to 109,000 lots.
