Recently, under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Mohan Majhi, the High-Level Clearance Authority of Odisha, India, approved investment proposals totaling 1.653 trillion rupees, which will significantly boost the industrial development of Odisha.
The approved investment projects cover key areas such as steel, aluminum, power generation, green hydrogen, engineering products, and green energy equipment. It is expected to create over 51,939 jobs, bringing significant employment growth to multiple regions.
The investment by Vedanta Group has also attracted considerable attention. The group has committed to investing 915.28 billion rupees (approximately 77.72 billion yuan) in the Rayagada region for two major projects, including the construction of an alumina refinery with an annual capacity of 6 million mt (investment of 505.37 billion rupees), and the construction of an aluminum smelter with an annual capacity of 1.2 million mt (investment of 409.91 billion rupees).
