Norwegian Hydro will invest $156 million to build a new aluminum rod casting plant. According to the news on March 24, 2025, Norwegian aluminum and renewable energy company Hydro announced that it will invest 1.65 billion Norwegian kroner (approximately $156 million) to build a new aluminum rod casting plant at its aluminum smelter in Karmøy. The plant is expected to have an annual capacity of 110,000 mt and is scheduled to commence production in 2028. The final investment decision is expected to be made in Q4 2025.
