SMM Shipping Data: Significant Increase in Shipments from Non-mainstream Mines, Port Arrivals Exceed Expectations
SMM's global iron ore shipments totaled 32.1 million mt, up 4.6% MoM. Among these, Australia shipped 18.79 million mt, increasing slightly by 3% MoM; shipments from Australia to China were 16.05 million mt, accounting for 85.4% of total Australian shipments, up 7.2% MoM. Brazil shipped 5.36 million mt, decreasing slightly by 9.4% MoM; shipments from Brazil to China were 2.84 million mt, accounting for 52.9% of total Brazilian shipments, increasing slightly by 4.9% MoM. During this period, shipments from non-mainstream mines increased significantly by 21.5%, with a notable increase in shipments from South Africa.
