Mingyang "Jupiter One" Pure Hydrogen Gas Turbine Successfully Completes Full Speed No-Load Test

On March 16, Wuxi Mingyang Hydrogen Power Technology Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "Mingyang Hydrogen"), a subsidiary of Mingyang Smart Energy, successfully completed the full-speed no-load test of its independently developed world's first 30MW-class pure hydrogen gas turbine, "Jupiter One." This milestone marks a significant step for China in hydrogen power generation and long duration energy storage (LDES), laying a solid foundation for future commercial applications and providing strong support for the construction of new energy bases in desert areas and the achievement of dual carbon goals. The full-speed no-load performance test included ignition, speed increase, and stability testing of the hydrogen turbine. After ignition and acceleration to full speed, it stably entered the full-speed no-load state. The test results showed that "Jupiter One" operated stably under 100% pure hydrogen fuel mode, with core technical parameters and performance indicators such as combustion efficiency, NOx emission control, thermoacoustic oscillation, and component matching all meeting design requirements, receiving unanimous recognition from the review experts and laying a solid foundation for subsequent commercial applications.
