[SMM Daily Review: March 12 Spot Lithium Carbonate Prices Remain Stable]

The SMM battery-grade lithium carbonate index price was 74,899 yuan/mt, up 44 yuan/mt from the previous working day. Battery-grade lithium carbonate was quoted at 74,000-75,800 yuan/mt, with an average price of 74,900 yuan/mt, unchanged from the previous working day. Industrial-grade lithium carbonate was quoted at 72,450-73,450 yuan/mt, with an average price of 72,950 yuan/mt, also unchanged from the previous working day. The transaction price center for spot lithium carbonate remained stable. Currently, downstream purchase willingness is relatively weak, mainly driven by restocking for rigid demand. Upstream lithium chemical plants maintain a sentiment to stand firm on quotes; however, with a certain increase in domestic lithium carbonate production and overseas imports, the significant surplus in lithium carbonate persists. Spot lithium carbonate prices are expected to have some downside room, accompanied by sideways movement.
