Hindustan Zinc Aims to Achieve 2 Million mt of Annual Metal Production by 2030
Hindustan Zinc, a subsidiary of India's Vedanta Group, is expected to double its metal production to 2 million mt per year within the next five years. Company Chairperson Priya Agarwal Hebbar emphasized that zinc plays a critical role in steel and galvanizing, and the rapid growth of India's steel capacity and infrastructure development is vital for the country's industrial expansion. The company currently has an annual production of approximately 1.1 million mt. To achieve its goal of doubling metal production to 2 million mt per year by 2030, the company is actively expanding its business areas and acquiring mining blocks for several key minerals. Additionally, Hindustan Zinc is advancing its roasting furnace and fertilizer plant projects as planned, further strengthening its long-term growth strategy.
