[Daily Review of Aluminum Scrap: Primary Aluminum Fluctuates Rangebound, Aluminum Scrap Market Gradually Recovers]

SMM, February 12: Spot primary aluminum prices dropped by 50 yuan/mt compared to the previous trading day, with SMM A00 spot price closing at 20,540 yuan/mt. Aluminum scrap market quotations followed aluminum prices with a slight correction. Suppliers gradually resumed work and production, and market activity improved WoW. Today, concentrated quotations for baled UBC aluminum scrap were at 15,150-15,900 yuan/mt (tax excluded), and for shredded aluminum tense scrap at 16,650-17,950 yuan/mt (liquid aluminum, tax excluded). In the short term, the weak supply and demand fundamentals of aluminum scrap remain unchanged. Currently, aluminum scrap traders are gradually recovering, downstream buyers are purchasing as needed, and market transactions have improved. The short-term price difference between primary metal and scrap is expected to maintain a fluctuating trend.
