SMM Reports Significant Increase in Zinc Ingot Inventories Ahead of Chinese New Year

[SMM Data] SMM January 27 News: According to SMM communication, as of this Monday (January 27), the total zinc ingot inventory across seven regions tracked by SMM reached 70,400 mt, an increase of 11,000 mt compared to January 20 and an increase of 7,800 mt compared to January 23, with domestic inventory recording a rise. Inventories in three domestic regions all grew. Over the weekend, smelters continued to deliver zinc ingots to social warehouses. However, with the Chinese New Year holiday approaching, downstream producers and traders were mostly on holiday, resulting in minimal market cargo pick-up and significant overall inventory growth. Specifically, inventories in the original three regions increased by 5,000 mt, while inventories across the seven regions rose by 7,800 mt.
