Aluminum Billet Inventory Rises, Demand Weakens Amid Holiday Season

The aluminum billet inventory in major domestic consumption areas reached 142,600 mt, an increase of 5,600 mt WoW, mainly due to the traditional off-season. Except for automotive extrusion, the operating rates of other extrusion sectors showed a significant decline. Additionally, extrusion plants in various regions have gradually entered the holiday phase, leading to a noticeable weakening trend in downstream demand for aluminum billets. Today, suppliers in the domestic aluminum billet market showed a willingness to cash out at high levels. However, as the purchasing side has entered the holiday phase, demand remained weak, and market transactions were sluggish. Processing fees for aluminum billets in the three major markets continued to decline. By region, the processing fees in the South China market were reported at 100/150 yuan/mt, down 70 yuan/mt; in the Wuxi market at 200/250 yuan/mt, down 80 yuan/mt; and in the Nanchang market at 170/220 yuan/mt, down 100 yuan/mt.
