Ningbo Zinc: Limited Market Quotations, Spot Premiums Rise [SMM Midday Review]

SMM January 2 News: The transaction price of mainstream 0# zinc brands in the Ningbo market was around 25,900-26,080 yuan/mt. Regular brands in Ningbo quoted a premium of 425 yuan/mt against the 2501 contract and a premium of 110 yuan/mt against Shanghai spot zinc. Mainstream quotations in Ningbo were based on the 2501 contract. During the first time period, Honglu-v quoted a premium of 430 yuan/mt against the 2501 contract; during the second time period, traders' quotations remained unchanged from the previous period. On the first trading day of the new year, the supply of zinc ingots in Ningbo remained limited. With tight supply, spot premiums increased, but some downstream buyers had certain inventories from previous purchases, leading to weak market transactions today.
