[SMM Sodium Battery Analysis: 100,000 mt Sodium Battery Cathode NFPP Project Put into Operation in Zigong High-Tech Zone; Gana First Achieves Large-Scale NFPP Production Line of 10,000 mt Capacity] On December 18, 2024, Gana's annual 100,000 mt polyanion sodium battery cathode active material project in Zigong High-Tech Zone was officially put into operation.

According to information from the official account of Zigong High-Tech Zone, on December 18, 2024, Jiana Energy officially put into operation its annual 100,000 mt polyanion sodium battery cathode material project in Zigong High-Tech Zone.

The total planned investment for this project is 5 billion yuan, to be constructed in phases. Once fully operational, the project is expected to achieve an annual sales revenue of 3.5 billion yuan. During the Phase I commissioning ceremony, several companies in the new energy battery industry signed strategic cooperation and supply agreements with Jiana Energy.

At the Phase I commissioning ceremony, companies including Qingna, Jinna, Weike, and Xingchu Century reached strategic cooperation and supply agreements with Jiana Energy.

SMM Analysis: By 2030, global demand for sodium batteries is expected to exceed 160 GWh, with sodium energy storage systems accounting for more than half of the market demand. As a material with high safety, excellent low-temperature performance, and long cycle life, NFPP is expected to become the primary cathode material for sodium energy storage. By 2025, the demand for sodium battery cathodes in sodium energy storage is projected to exceed 10,000 mt.

Introduction to Jiana Energy

Shenzhen Jiana Energy Technology Co., Ltd. was established in April 2022. It is a high-tech enterprise focused on high-safety, long-life, and low-cost sodium-ion battery systems. The company's headquarters and R&D base are located in Longgang District, Shenzhen, Guangdong Province. Since its establishment, the company has adhered to a development strategy of technological leadership, upholding the principles of excellence, inclusiveness, self-reliance, and innovation. It has rapidly grown into a well-known and influential enterprise in the industry. Within less than a year, Jiana Energy has obtained over 100 invention patents, making it one of the few companies with core competitiveness in the sodium-ion battery field.

Jiana's Sodium Battery Industry Layout and Project Progress

On December 18, 2024, Jiana Energy officially put into operation its annual 100,000 mt polyanion sodium battery cathode material project in Zigong High-Tech Zone.

[Sodium Energy Storage: Jiana Jialing Wins Nearly 1.4 Million Yuan Sodium Energy Storage System Project] On November 29, 2024, the Pingdingshan Finance Bureau announced the winning bid for the Yao Mountain Laboratory sodium-ion battery PV energy storage and charging system procurement project. Henan Jialing New Energy Technology Co., Ltd., a wholly-owned subsidiary of Jiana Energy, won the bid for 1.394 million yuan. The project includes an energy storage system and accessories based on NFPP sodium-ion batteries, PV power generation systems and accessories, intelligent mobile charging robots and components, intelligent EV charging piles, eight PV carports and their accessories, as well as software and hardware procurement, installation, and services for intelligent monitoring and billing systems. According to the contract, the project must complete delivery, installation, commissioning, and acceptance within 20 calendar days after signing.

[Sodium Battery Cell NFPP: Jinna Launches Groundbreaking 200Ah+ Large Cylindrical Sodium Battery Cell] On September 8, 2024, Shenzhen Jinna delivered its first batch of ultra-large cylindrical sodium-ion battery energy storage cabinets, with each single battery cell exceeding 200Ah (260Ah), using polyanion material (NFPP) supplied by Jiana. This marks the industry's first ultra-large cylindrical sodium battery energy storage system officially used in end-use applications. Jinna Technology is currently designing and developing ultra-large cylindrical sodium battery cells with a single capacity of 800Ah, expected to be put into use in 2025.

[Sodium Battery: Smooth Progress of Jiana's Pu'er Project] On September 4, 2024, according to the Ning'er County Media Center in Pu'er, Yunnan, the sodium-ion industry chain project of Pu'er Jiana New Material Technology Co., Ltd., located in the Ning'er section of the Simao Industrial Park, is progressing smoothly. The steel structures of multiple factory buildings have begun installation, and other construction work is steadily advancing. The project is divided into two phases. Phase I covers 170 mu, with the steel structure columns and beams of Factory No. 4 already installed, the steel structure installation of Factory No. 3 for anode materials reaching 80% completion, and the foundation construction of Factory No. 1 completed. Phase II, covering 225 mu, is also progressing as planned. The project is expected to have a total investment of approximately 5 billion yuan, covering about 400 mu, with a total construction area of 180,000 m². The project includes an annual production line of 70,000 mt of sodium-ion battery cathode materials, a 30,000 mt biomass hard carbon anode material production line, and a 2 GWh sodium-ion battery cell and energy storage (Yunnan) manufacturing center. Phase I is expected to be put into operation by year-end, creating over 100 jobs.

[Sodium Battery: Environmental Impact Assessment for Jiana's 100,000 mt Sodium Battery Cathode NFPP Project in Zigong] On August 27, 2024, Zigong Jiana New Material Technology Co., Ltd. announced the environmental impact assessment for its 100,000 mt/year sodium-ion battery cathode material production line Phase I project. The total construction scale of the project is 100,000 mt/year, with Phase I planned to achieve a capacity of 20,000 mt/year. Phase I will utilize the existing standard factory buildings of Zigong Jiana Energy Technology Co., Ltd., with a site area of approximately 50,363.55 m². The project will be implemented in two stages, each with a capacity of 10,000 mt/year, with the specific implementation sequence determined by the company's strategic planning and market demand. The project will focus on the R&D and production of high-safety, long-life, low-cost sodium-ion key materials and related battery systems. The main construction includes new production workshops, finished product storage areas, packaging material storage areas, and other necessary warehousing facilities. Additionally, office buildings, duty buildings, duty rooms, canteens, control systems, pure water stations, cooling towers, circulating water stations, fire protection systems, sewage facilities, accident pools, initial rainwater pools, hazardous waste rooms, and other public auxiliary systems and "three wastes" treatment facilities will be built. The first and second stages of the project will each establish a 10,000 mt/year composite iron phosphate sodium production line. Upon completion, the application scale of the products is expected to reach 6 GWh.

[Location: Yunnan - Sodium Battery Anode Material Carbon Precursor Project Signed] On May 9, Pu'er Jiana Energy Storage Technology Co., Ltd. and the Yunnan Jinggu Industrial Park Management Committee signed an investment agreement for the sodium-ion industry chain anode material carbon precursor production project.

[Jiana Energy Completes Multi-Billion Yuan Financing] On March 5, Shenzhen Jiana Energy Technology Co., Ltd. announced that it completed its Series A financing round in February, raising several billion yuan. This round was led by Zigong High-Tech Investment, with participation from Chilwee Group and Suzhou Xiangcheng Financial Control, while existing shareholder Shunwei Capital continued to invest. The funds will be used for the construction of a 10,000 mt cathode material production line, product R&D, and market expansion, further promoting the industrialisation of sodium-ion batteries.

In January 2024, Jiana's 10,000 mt production line in Zigong commenced construction.

In October 2023, Jiana's Pu'er project in Yunnan broke ground.

In September 2023, the company obtained ISO system certification, and its products passed SGS IEC62619 certification.

In August 2023, a kiloton-level mass production line was put into operation, and Chunhua Capital completed a Pre-A+ financing round of tens of millions of yuan.

In March 2023, the company delivered samples at the 100 kg level to customers.

In July 2022, kilogram-level products were delivered to leading customers for sampling.
