UBS Forecasts Decline in Aluminum and Alumina Futures Prices in China by 2025

게시됨: Nov 3, 2024 10:34
In a recent research report, UBS stated that it expects the average prices of aluminum and alumina futures in China to reach RMB 19,000 per ton and RMB 3,600 per ton respectively by 2025. Currently, the aluminum futures price on the Shanghai Futures Exchange stands at RMB 20,710 per ton, while alumina futures are priced at RMB 4,863 per ton. UBS analysts pointed out that with more supplies entering the market, China's alumina market is projected to experience an oversupply situation by February 2025, leading to a decline in prices. Currently, alumina prices have hit historic highs due to supply disruptions, particularly export issues in Guinea, which has affected the country's role as a major importer of bauxite for China's alumina refineries.
