Post-National Day Aluminum Inventories Rise Marginally, Far Below Pre-Holiday Expectations

On October 8, 2024, according to SMM statistics, the domestic social inventory of electrolytic aluminum ingots was 684,000 tonnes, and the domestic tradable electrolytic aluminum inventory was 558,000 tonnes, which was only 26,000 tonnes higher than the pre-holiday inventory, with the increase in accumulated inventory significantly lower than expectations before the holiday. Year-on-year, the domestic aluminum ingot inventory was only 102,000 tonnes higher than the 582,000 tonnes recorded in the same historical period after the holiday last year, and 127,000 tonnes had been destocked since the end of August. Coupled with the increase in accumulated inventory of 28,000 tonnes in domestic aluminum bar inventory during the holiday, domestic aluminum products accumulated only 54,000 tonnes of inventory after the National Day holiday...
