[SMM Data] SMM News on September 30: According to SMM research, as of Monday (September 30), the total inventory of zinc ingots in seven regions tracked by SMM was 99,200 tonnes, a decrease of 16,400 tonnes from September 23 and 7,500 tonnes from September 26, indicating a decline in domestic inventory. The inventory in Shanghai decreased, with imported zinc ingots arriving at warehouses over the weekend, but downstream demand for stocking up before the National Day holiday continued, leading to an overall decline in inventory. The inventory in Guangdong also decreased, with fewer arrivals at warehouses over the weekend and downstream demand for stocking up before the holiday, resulting in an overall decline in inventory. The inventory in Tianjin decreased, with no improvement in arrivals at warehouses over the weekend, and the demand for stocking up before the holiday combined with rising black metal prices drove galvanizing enterprises to continuously purchase raw materials, leading to a significant decline in overall inventory. Overall, the inventory in the original three regions decreased by 7,700 tonnes, and the inventory in seven regions decreased by 7,500 tonnes.
