China’s imports of zinc concentrate fell both MoM and YoY in August

According to the latest customs data, in August 2024, China’s imports of zinc concentrate amounted to 357,800 mt (physical content), down 4.68% MoM (17,600 mt in physical content) and down 16.42% YoY. From January to August, the cumulative import volume of zinc concentrate was 2.4483 million mt (physical content), down 21.03% YoY. This week, the total inventory of SMM zinc concentrate at seven ports, including Fangchenggang, Lianyungang, Jinzhou, Huangpu, Qinzhou, Nanjing, and Huludao, was 123,000 mt, down 18,600 mt WoW, with Huangpu Port contributing the main reduction.
