[SMM Analysis: Prebaked Carbon Anode Prices Continue to Fall in September with Strengthened Support from Raw Material Market Recovery during the Week] The rebound in petroleum coke and coal pitch prices has bolstered the support for prebaked carbon anode prices. According to SMM calculations, as of August 29, the cost of prebaked carbon anode in China was approximately 3,787 yuan/ton, up 1.3% from the previous Thursday. During the previous settlement period, the raw material market exhibited relative weakness, leading to a corresponding reduction in prebaked carbon anode prices. A major domestic prebaked carbon anode sales company set its September 2024 sales price for prebaked carbon anode at 24 yuan/ton lower than the previous month. Meanwhile, the bidding price for prebaked carbon anode by a large aluminum plant in Shandong for September fell by 39 yuan/ton compared to the previous month.
