GEM Co. Soars in MHP, Ternary Precursor Sales, Eyes 60,000 Tonne MHP Shipment Target by 2024 End

In the first half of 2024, GEM Co., Ltd. achieved shipments of over 20,000 tonnes of MHP products (nickel-cobalt hydroxide, a preliminary processed product of laterite nickel ore), sales of ternary precursor products exceeded 100,000 tonnes, and shipments of ternary cathodes reached 7,119 tonnes. The company stated that by the end of June, its nickel smelting capacity in Indonesia had reached a total of 40,000 tonnes. With the successive commissioning of new capacities, a total of 150,000 tonnes of nickel smelting capacity will be established by the end of 2024, and the company aims to achieve a shipment target of 60,000 metal tonnes of MHP throughout the year.
