[SMM Daily Commentary: Lithium Carbonate Prices Remain Stable on August 22]

The SMM battery-grade lithium carbonate index price stood at 74,781 yuan/ton, up 29 yuan/ton from the previous working day. Battery-grade lithium carbonate ranged from 72,160 to 77,600 yuan/ton, with an average price of 74,880 yuan/ton, an increase of 30 yuan/ton from the previous working day. Industrial-grade lithium carbonate ranged from 69,510 to 70,350 yuan/ton, with an average price of 69,930 yuan/ton, also up 30 yuan/ton from the previous day. Influenced by a significant rebound in yesterday's market prices, some lithium salt plants closely following market prices have raised their quotations. Other lithium salt plants have shown relatively negative sentiment towards shipments and a strong stance in maintaining prices. Some materials factories bought at lower levels earlier, but have reduced trading activities this week, adopting a cautious wait-and-see attitude amidst the current rebound in market prices. Given the current oversupply situation, lithium carbonate prices are expected to continue operating on the weaker side.
