As we approach late August, the turning point for the destocking of domestic aluminum ingots is dimly discernible. On August 19, 2024, SMM reported the total social inventory of electrolytic aluminum ingots to be 807,000 tonnes, with 681,000 tonnes of domestically tradable electrolytic aluminum, representing a decrease of 16,000 tonnes from last Thursday, indicating an accelerated decline in domestic electrolytic aluminum inventories to around 800,000 tonnes. Although the current aluminum ingot inventory is still 316,000 tonnes higher year-on-year compared to the same period last year, in terms of outbound shipments, last week's shipments increased by 11,200 tonnes to 116,400 tonnes compared to the previous week, suggesting a strengthening trend that heralds the arrival of the traditional peak season for aluminum ingot shipments...
