According to the SMM survey, as of this Thursday (August 15), the total zinc ingot inventory in seven regions in China was 134,100 mt, a decrease of 5,100 mt compared to August 8, and a decrease of 3,000 mt compared to August 12. Domestic inventory continued to decline. Inventories in Shanghai and Guangdong decreased significantly due to fewer arrivals and downstream restocking as needed, leading to a continued decline in inventory. Inventory in Tianjin slightly decreased; although arrivals in Tianjin were still low during the week, ferrous metals prices continued to drag down galvanized consumption, resulting in little overall inventory change.
