SMM: Zinc Ingot Inventories in Seven Regions Decline Further, Led by Shanghai and Guangdong

[SMM Data] SMM News on August 15: According to SMM research, as of this Thursday (August 15), the total inventory of zinc ingots in seven regions tracked by SMM reached 134,100 tonnes, a decrease of 5,100 tonnes from August 8 and 3,000 tonnes from August 12, with domestic inventories continuing to decline. Notable reductions were recorded in Shanghai and Guangdong, where fewer shipments arrived at warehouses within the week, and downstream rigid demand drove purchases and deliveries, leading to a further decline in inventories. In Tianjin, a slight decrease in inventory was observed, with fewer arrivals at warehouses within the week. However, the persistent decline in black metal prices hindered galvanized consumption, resulting in minimal changes to overall inventory. On the whole, inventory reductions of 2,500 tonnes and 3,000 tonnes were recorded in the original three and seven regions, respectively.
