This week, spot prices of silicon metal showed limited changes. These are silicon metal prices (by type) as of June 13 and their WoW changes: standard #553 silicon metal in East China (12,800-13,000 yuan/mt, -100 yuan/mt WoW), above standard #553 silicon metal (13,000-13,200 yuan/mt, flat WoW)), #421 silicon metal for silicone (13,800-13,900 yuan/mt, flat WoW), and #3303 silicon metal (14,000-14,100 yuan/mt, flat WoW). This week, the spot silicon metal market maintained transactions as needed. Prices of standard #553 silicon metal weakened. On one hand, one of the major production areas, Sichuan, saw silicon producers gradually release products after production resumption, increasing the supply of standard silicon metal products. On the other hand, suppressed by prices of above-standard silicon metal products, silicon plants made slight price concessions in transactions.

The spot prices of silicon metal have been in a deadlock for over a month. The earlier rise in futures prices did not stimulate active downstream purchasing sentiment. Currently, without significant changes in fundamentals, the spot prices of silicon metal are likely to rise.
