From January to April 2024, cumulative imports of alumina increased by over 75%, while net imports in April turned negative

In April, China's net import of alumina was -22,000 mt. According to Chinese customs, China exported 130,400 mt of alumina in April 2024, with a cumulative export of 552,000 mt from January to April. In April 2024, imports were 108,400 mt, down 64.32% MoM and 23.45% YoY. Cumulative imports from January to April 2024 were 1.0558 million mt, up 75.44% YoY. Net imports of alumina in April were -22,000 mt, with a cumulative net import of 503,000 mt from January to April 2024.
