According to market news, copper production is expected to decrease. A staff member of the securities department of Northern Copper Industry responded that although the company's production capacity has increased, the supply of copper concentrates is in tight balance and processing fees are under severe pressure, leading to a possible decrease in production in the future.

According to the staff member, the domestic copper processing industry mainly relies on imported copper concentrates, mainly from South America and Africa. The settlement price of copper concentrate is determined by the futures price of refined copper and the processing fee. Starting from the fourth quarter of 2023, the production of key copper concentrates import areas has been reduced, leading to a significant decrease in the processing fees reserved for downstream processing industries. Therefore, the profit margin has decreased, and the company may reduce production.
