A major aluminum smelter in Shandong cut its January prebaked anode benchmark purchase price by 150 yuan/mt MoM to 3,878 yuan/mt. According to SMM, export prices for prebaked anodes were lowered by about $15-20/mt due to the drop in raw material prices. As of Jan 10, SMM’s prebaked anode prices in east China closed at 3,878-6,410 yuan/mt, and prebaked anode prices in northwest China closed at 4,328-4,698 yuan/mt.
