China Aluminum Billet Production Fell 12,000 mt MoM In November

SMM's monthly survey data shows that in November 2023, total national aluminum billet production reached 1.318 million mt, down 12,000 mt MoM. The operating rates for domestic aluminum billets in November was 65.5%, down 0.9% MoM. Even in the traditional off-season, the supply side of aluminum billets remained relatively strong in November. According to SMM's research, some billet factories in Inner Mongolia and Xinjiang are expected to see production cuts or shutdowns of varying degrees in December due to annual maintenance, lowered demand expectations, and early holidays. Consequently, a significant decline in overall domestic aluminum billet production is forecasted for December.
