On August 21, Zijin Mining acquired 48.591% of the shares of Zhonghui Industrial for 1.646 billion yuan, thus obtaining the relative controlling stake of the undeveloped super-large copper mine, Zhuono Copper Mine in Tibet. According to the agreement, the project construction and operation will be led by Zijin Mining.

According to the detailed investigation report submitted by the Geology Team 2 of the Tibet Geology Bureau in June this year, Zhuono Copper Mine has 2.2 million tons of copper and gold metal with an average grade of 0.62%, and another 1.34 million tons of low-grade copper and gold metal with an average grade of 0.29%.

At the signing ceremony, Songnima, Deputy Chairman of the Tibet Autonomous Region and Secretary of the Rikaze Municipal Party Committee, said that green mining is an important part of the eight major industries of Tibet's layout and development, and the signing of the Zhuono project has opened a new round of green mining development in the whole region and Rikaze Plateau, which will inject strong momentum into the high-quality development of the plateau economy.
