Operating Rates at Silicon Metal Plants Rose Due To High-Water Period In Yunnan

Although silicon metal prices are still running at low levels, silicon metal plants in various production areas in Yunnan recently resumed production. Some silicon metal plants also plan to resume production in July. Most of the silicon metal plants did not reach full capacity. SMM survey showed that as of June 29, 27 RKEFs resumed production in Yunnan in June. 

At present, most of the plants that have resumed production are located in Baoshan city. Most of the silicon metal plants in the region have resumed production except for a few silicon metal plants that were changing their power supply lines and that planned to resume production in July. Most silicon metal enterprises in Dehong Autonomous Prefecture have completed preparations for production resumption and plan to resume production in early July considering the current low silicon prices.

Silicon metal enterprises in Nujiang Prefecture stepped up production during the month, and some plants have already operated at full capacity. In other regions of Yunnan, only a few silicon metal plants resumed production, and the resumption of production will depend on market price trends.
