Refined Zinc Smelters’ Finished Product Inventories Likely To Grow In April

SHANGHAI, Apr 18 (SMM) – SMM survey showed refined zinc smelters held 55,500 mt of zinc ingot inventories and 9,600 mt of zinc alloy inventories in March, with the combined inventories down 4,000 mt MoM to 65,100 mt. The recovery of shipments and improving downstream purchases after zinc prices fell allowed smelters’ inventories to drop.

Smelters are expected to maintain normal production in April, while downstream enterprises may slow down purchases due to high raw material inventory, which could potentially push up smelters’ inventories.
