SMM Daily Comments (Mar 31): Shanghai Base Metals Closed Mostly with Losses, Tin Bucked the Trend, Ferrous Metals Mostly Rose

SHANGHAI, Mar 31 (SMM) – The US dollar index fluctuated slightly today, up 0.2% as of 15:56. Oil prices fell back today. As of 15:56 CST, Brent Oil fell 0.6%, and WTI oil fell 0.44%.

Most SHFE base metals closed with declines. SHFE tin closed up 1.52%, SHFE aluminium rose slightly by 0.03%; SHFE nickel closed down 1.86%; SHFE copper and SHFE zinc closed down 0.72% and 0.55% respectively.

Ferrous metals prices closed with gains except for stainless steel, which closed down 1.34%. Iron ore rose 1.17%.
