On February 16, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) released a review on the performance of the domestic PV manufacturing industry in 2022, citing a new record high in output. Specifically, the output of polysilicon, silicon wafers, solar cells and modules stood at 827,000 mt, 357 GW, 318 GW and 288.7 GW respectively in the full year of 2022, each with a year-on year increase over 55%. At the same time, the total output value exceeded 1.4 trillion yuan.
On the other hand, the new PV installed capacity in 2022 stood over 87 GW. In terms of export, the total value of exported PV products amounted to over $51.2 billion, with over 153 GW of PV modules shipped overseas.
China's PV industry chain certainly buttresses both domestic and overseas market and helps satisfy the global new energy demand.
