Taiwan wafer foundry Liji Power Co., Ltd. has a revenue of NT $65.622 billion in 2021, an all-time high. Huang Chongren, chairman of the company, said at a legal conference today (25) that the annual revenue target is to exceed NT $80 billion.
According to Taiwanese media reports, Huang Chong-Jen also talked about production capacity. He pointed out that although the current capacity crunch is not as serious as before, it is still tight. 70-80% of the capacity of LSMC has been booked by customers, and the remaining 20% will retain production flexibility.
In addition, Liji revealed capital expenditure plans for this year, with a target of about $1.5 billion, mainly related investment in gong factories, of which 97 per cent was spent on 12-inch factories and 3 per cent on 8-inch factories.
It is reported that Ligan operates three 12-inch wafer factories and two 8-inch wafer plants in northern Taiwan, and is building a new 12-inch fab with an estimated monthly capacity of 100000 wafers. The new fab will start producing chips with mature nodes and professional processes in stages starting from 2023. Key customers include suppliers of display-driven IC, CMOS image sensors, power management chips and other power devices, as well as professional DRAM memories.
