Honeycomb Energy, which was founded in 2018, was previously the research and development department of Great Wall automotive batteries, focusing on cobalt-free batteries, solid-state batteries, energy storage and solar energy, according to the official website. The three Great Wall models (Euler R1, Euler IQ and WEY P8) are all equipped with honeycomb energy R & D batteries, which has received a good response from the market.

It is worth mentioning that in terms of installed capacity, Honeycomb Energy can be called a "dark horse". Last April, Honeycomb Energy began to install equipment. It jumped into the top 20 installed capacity in August of the same year, and has been firmly in the top 10 list for six consecutive months. Honeycomb Energy has jumped to seventh place in the latest March ranking.

In the capital market, Honeycomb Energy has been advancing steadily.

Two months ago, Honeycomb Energy announced that it had completed 3.5 billion RMB A round of financing, which was jointly led by BOC Investment, CIC Investment Promotion, Financial Street Capital and Great Wall Holdings, and the funds were mainly used for new technology research and development and capacity expansion. At the end of last month, the company said it had started round B financing and would close it in the third quarter, with an estimated financing scale of 30-4 billion yuan. After the completion of the share reform in the second half of this year, the declaration materials will be submitted in the first half of 2022.

As a new force in the field of power battery, honeycomb energy is widely distributed in the field of power battery.

In December last year, Honeycomb Energy released the "Cold Bee system", a systematic solution for thermal runaway, that is, jelly battery + thermal barrier battery pack + bee cloud platform, which successfully achieved "no fire and no smoke" in the acupuncture test. In addition, Honeycomb Energy has also developed a system monitoring platform "Fengyun platform", which can continuously monitor more than 90, 000 electric vehicles, get more than 1.6 billion pieces of analytical data and have the ability to monitor more than 20 projects.

In May last year, Honeycomb unveiled two thin-chip cobalt-free batteries: a 115Ah battery suitable for most pure electric platforms and a 226Ah L6 thin sheet cobalt-free long cell with a range of 880km. On December 2 of the same year, honeycomb energy cobalt-free batteries began to accept global orders and will be officially mass-produced in June this year. The battery covers two major platforms of Evil H, and can realize the full scene application of A00MurD class models, and then cover 300 to 800 + km full-range models.

The industrial layout of honeycomb energy is not limited to cobalt-free batteries, but also in the field of solid-state batteries, which has attracted much attention recently.

Just a few days ago, Honeycomb Energy joined hands with the Chinese Academy of Sciences to build a solid-state battery technology research center, which aims to quickly break through the key technology of "sticking neck" and promote the transformation of solid-state battery technology to the ground. In addition, Honeycomb Energy plans to apply demonstration solid-state batteries with an energy density of 350-500Wh/kg in production vehicles by 2025.

It is worth mentioning that in terms of battery shape, Honeycomb Energy President Yang Hongxin said in an interview that Honeycomb Energy will also enter the field of large columns this year.

In addition, the expansion of honeycomb energy capacity continues to accelerate.

At the end of February this year, Honeycomb Energy invested 7 billion yuan to set up a new power battery base in Huzhou with an annual production capacity of 20GWH; in the same month, the Changzhou Phase II plant was launched, and it is expected that the effective capacity will reach 6.91GWH in 2021; in January, another 7 billion yuan was invested to build a 20GWh power battery factory in Suining. Last year, Honeycomb Energy also announced an investment of 15.5 billion yuan to set up a plant in Germany, including a cell factory with an annual capacity of 24GWh and a PACK plant.

In terms of industrial chain, Honeycomb Energy has reached cooperation with a number of suppliers.

According to the public information of pilot Intelligence, Haimu Star and China Baoan, Honeycomb Energy is the customer of these three companies. In addition, in October 2019, Honeycomb signed a strategic cooperation agreement with Kodali, Nord and Hangzhou Wuxing Aluminum, a subsidiary of Dingsheng New Materials.
