SMM expects the electricity rationing in Inner Mongolia would see its monthly high-grade nickel pig iron production hit by 10-15%, translating to 380-570 mt of nickel metal.

SHANGHAI, Dec 19 (SMM)-SMM expects the electricity rationing in Inner Mongolia would see its monthly high-grade nickel pig iron production hit by 10-15%, translating to 380-570 mt of nickel metal.

Such loss, however, has little impact nationwide as the volume accounts for only 1-2% of China’s high-grade nickel pig iron output in November.

As previously reported, the city of Ulanqab in Inner Mongolia would begin electricity rationing due to insufficient network load. Currently, different regions in the city see various degrees of power rationing these days. It is unclear when stable power supply would resume.
