Aluminum Rod Processing Fees Fall Sharply, SMM Reports

SHANGHAI, Sept. 20 (SMM) – One aluminum rod maker, whose processing fees are used as benchmark in north China, cut processing fees to less than 200 yuan/tonne.

Environmental and safe production checks in Hebei severely hit local wire & cable producers, hurting demand for aluminum rod.

Besides, wire & cable producers try to delay delivery and cut operating rates against too high aluminum prices.

These forced the aluminum rod maker to reduce processing fees, SMM explains.
