NEW YORK (Scrap Register): United States silver scrap prices slightly up on Wednesday, while silver futures prices at New York Mercantile Exchange dropped as the dollar recovered a bit from a sell-off after President-elect Donald Trump held a freewheeling press conference.
The major silver scrap commodities on the Scrap Register Price Index slightly up by 0.714 percent on Wednesday. The hallmarked silver scrap prices up to $13.822an ounce and non-hallmarked silver scrap prices slightly up to $12.269 an ounce.
The most active March silver contract on the COMEX division of the New York Mercantile Exchange declined by 2 cents to settle at $16.828 an ounce on Wednesday.
Donald Trump provided little clarity on future fiscal policies in his first press conference as U.S. president-elect. In his first press briefing as U.S. president-elect, Trump presided over a wide-ranging session that lasted longer than expected but contained no details on tax cuts and infrastructure spending.
