【SMM Aluminum Express】In its half-year report released on September 8, Australian Mining firm Arrow Minerals mentioned in May 2025, Guinean government indicated via media that numerous exploration permits might be canceled. The mining rights for both the Niagara Bauxite Project and the Simandou North Iron Project were included in the list of permits pending cancellation or withdrawal. As of June 30, 2025, due to uncertainty surrounding its mining rights, and despite solid technical progress and significant resource potential, the company announced the suspension of these two key projects in Guinea to reduce costs and preserve capital. As of the date of the report, the company had not received any official notification but stated it remains engaged with relevant Guinean stakeholders. Further progress depends on the resolution of the mining rights issue.
